Exports can contain raw survey responses, timestamps, respondent references, and other information that may identify a participant directly or indirectly.
Before exporting
Export only when you have a clear study purpose and the right project authorization. Prefer the least identifying export format that still supports your analysis.
After downloading
Store the file in an approved location with access limited to the study team.
Do not send raw exports through personal email or chat.
Keep a note of why the export was created and who received it.
Delete generated copies when the study retention plan says they are no longer needed.
Check whether response content itself can identify someone, even when names are not included.
If a participant makes a rights request
Coordinate with the study controller before using or sharing old exports. A request may affect copies outside Assentics as well as records inside the application.
